Brazil Plans To Triple Capacity To Generate Wind Power

Windmills manufactured by Wobben Windpower, a subsidiary of Enercom GmbH, operate at the 25.6 megawatt (MW) Beberibe Wind Farm owned by Tractebel Energia SA, the Brazilian unit of GDF Suez SA, in Beberibe, Brazil, on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010. Brazil plans to triple its capacity to generate wind power, harnessing the trade winds which blow westward over the Atlantic Ocean to northern Brazil, to spin turbines more cheaply than almost anywhere else.
